Pieces: Necklace and Earrings Materials: Tuxedo Agate, Glass Beads, Onyx, Swarovski Crystals, Seed Beads, Sterling Silver Description: Tuxedo Agate is a black agate with distinctive white and some gray stripes. It was named for its stripes that look like a Tuxedo. Onyx, the stone of protection, repels negativity, and is included in faceted and smooth beaded forms. The next item in this necklace was the Swarovski Crystals and small rectangular glass beads. Glass beads are made using varied colored glass rods, which are: heated, stretched, rolled, pulled, decorated, and cooled. Seed beads in black and white are also added for contrast and to lighten the necklace weight. The final items included are the Sterling Silver Beads and Clasp as well as matching earrings. Care: Tuxedo Agate can crack rather easily especially the banded varieties, which separate along fissures. Agate is porous thus wiping with a damp jewelry cloth is the best. Care should be taken when wearing your onyx jewelry as it may dent or scratch easily. Swarovski Crystals and glass beads are susceptible to chips and are best cleaned in the same method above. An Ultra-sonic cleaner is not recommended. Sterling Silver needs care but is susceptible to tarnish in open air. Storing loosely in a silver bag will keep your necklace bright and beautiful longer. Dry with a damp cotton cloth, and polish with a soft jewelry cloth.
